Mustek digital photo frame

With film cameras taking a backseat to digital cameras, it is fitting that the standard one print picture frames are also being replaced.  A digital photo frame allows you to display pictures taken on your digital camera with stunning quality and detail.  It can also cycle through multiple pictures on its own or at the touch of a button.  This allows you or your guests to flip through your favorite photos without having to access the computer or look through prints.

The digital photo frame makes a great gift as well, as a relatively new item to the mainstream market most people do not yet own one.

Fuji Finepix camerasWhen I traveled abroad to Europe, I thought about buying a digital camera beforehand, but as I was already spending a substantial amount of money on the trip, I decided to wait until another time.  However when I got to Europe, I discovered so many things I wanted to have photos of to show my family and friends.  I ended up in an electronics store in France looking at Fuji cameras.  The clerk didn’t speak much English, but I could tell he was recommending I buy a Fuji.

So I took the dive and bought the camera, and have loved using it ever since.  Luckily the instructions were available in French and English, otherwise I would have been in trouble!

My mother is not a photographer but she did take several pictures and her pictures were fabulous.  Now she is now wanting her very own Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH Camera.  This should be a great Christmas gift for her this year.

camera_obscura.jpgThe beginning of the camera started around 1826 or 1827.  This was when the first permanent photograph was made.  The camera was a wooden box camera made by Charles and Vincent Chevalier in Paris.  The film was made of chalk and silver mixture darkens under exposed light.  The history of the camera can be dated back to around 1021.  An Iraqi Arab used a pen hole and lens to project an image onto a viewing surface.  The earliest cameras were room size with space for one or more people inside.

Photographic film was developed by George Eastman.  He manufactured paper film in 1885.  In 1889 he switched to celluloid for film.  In 1885 George Eastman produced his first camera and it was called Kodak camera.  This first camera was  a simple box camera that had a fixed focus lens.  This camera had a single shutter speed lens.

This camera had the appeal for the average person due to the low price.  This camera was pre-loaded at the factory with film.  Each camera had around 100 pictures that could be taken.  After all the pictures were taken the camera had to be sent back to the factory to have the film developed and the camera reloaded with film.

200px-brownie2_overview3.jpgIn 1900 George Eastman introduced the Brownie camera.  This was a simple and inexpensive box camera.  The Brownie box camera introduced the concept of the snap-shot pictures.  The Brownie was very popular until the 1960’s when the camera was discontinued.

George Eastman’s Kodak cameras are still very popular today.  Kodak produces 35MM cameras, Digital Cameras, camcorders and Digital Photo Frames.
